Performance appraisals
Most of the larger professional service firms operate formal partner and staff performance appraisal systems. Your firm may do so as well although the concept is less widely adopted in smaller firms. It is more common in such cases for performance to be discussed in a less structured way only as part of an annual salary review.
If your firm does conduct formal performance appraisals you are likely to find that there is a considerable overlap between the issues addressed therein and the twelve skills discussed in my Guide to key business skills for ambitious professionals.
In any event you may find the Guide is a useful, short reminder of the key skills that most ambitious professionals will need if they are to reach their true potential.
